What is an Analemma?
An Analemma is nothing else than the position of the sun seen from a fixed spot on Earth over an entire year. Dependend on the position on Earth the figure will be more or less tilted and the number of images you take influence the “resolution” of the figure. Shooting an Analemma in real life is a project over at least a whole year, as the weather does not always allow to take the pictures you want. But in the end, the result is always amazing!
I tried to create an Analemma within the virtual environment of the FS2020. It is a nice and simple method of how one can validate the movement and behaviour of the major objects in the sky. And it was successful, as the Analemma looks exactly how it should look like. I’m stunned!
How to shoot an Analemma?
An Analemma is pretty easy to create: set up your camera and don’t touch it anymore for an entire year. You now take a picture of the same setting every two weeks EXACTLY at the same time. Once you are done, you stack the images in a tool like Photoshop and well, that’s all the magic.
