Flightplan
This time we headed for Cape Town, our next stop of the World Tour. Excitingly enough we are going to cross a couple of different states of Africa. We will take off in Angola, cross Namibia and will finally land in Cape Town, one of the three capitals of South Africa. Namibia is well known for it’s untouched nature and it’s clear skies without light pollution. As I am an hobby astronomer I was very curious to see Namiba from above. So far a travel to Namibia has always been on my personal bucket list, but due to COVID serious travelling is literally impossible since 1,5 years. But at least I can travel it virtually!
The routing was planned with Simbrief and in accordance to the valid AIRAC cycle at that time. The route was validated and was more or less represented by a straight line from Luanda to Cape Town with just one little bend. There were no SIDs going out from Luanda, and also no STARs supporting the approach to Cape Town. So, everything has been pretty basic and more ot less straight forward. As Africa is really a big continent, this leg took quite a while. The flight itself was quiet and without any problems but with nce weather. Enjoy the pictures!
